This is not the case in the United States.
On 16 July 2001, Russian programmer Dmitry Sklyarov was arrested by federal agents in Las Vegas, Nevada. His crime: pointing out major security flaws in Adobe PDF and eBook software.
Adobe Systems Incorporated has a problem. Since Dmitry Sklyarov's arrest for a violation of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, in giving a talk of what is wrong with the eBook protection scheme, Adobe needs a lesson in how Article 19 mentioned above and the internet works.
