what's hot what's not

Qwest is the new phone company in town. Same crappy service, new logo and more bullshit advertising. They have been telling me for two years that they can give me DSL. They lie. I am 17,238 feet from the CO. 2 grand and change over the line.

"Ride the light" they say. I am 3000 feet from the cable switch. Close but no cigar. The fibre is in the box. Getting it those 3000 feet seems to be beyond them. I will become a regular at the Arizona Corporation Commision hearings every time they put their hand out for anything.

They have been having router problems for over two weeks and they have a real inability to figure out where the problems are. Don't ever call them and expect to find anybody who knows anything about routers. A free tech tip for them would be to assign static IP's to their network and play ping, It doesn't take very long to show you which router is puking. I might as well be using AOL.

It has taken four tries to ftp this page.

ICANN is there and they still can't. The back door deal with Verisign over the .com, .net and .org registries will really kill the the idea that these folks will be able to run the internet in hotel rooms.
We will need to talk to them.

The weekend is probably a lot of fun in Austin, SXSW, Texas. We spent it in our back yard futzing around and teaching our dogs not to eat mana lemur's plants. Hopefully.

Teresa Earnhart Speaks

Where I Draw The Line.
I am an advocate for many things on the web, freedom of speech is among the most treasured. I draw the line a lot further down the road than most folks.
I have discovered where that line is. In an emotional appeal by Teresa Earnhart, she is asking that people stop trying to acquire the autopsy photographs of her husband Dale Earnhart.
Do you really believe that we need this? I don't.
I urge you to use the links at the bottom of her statement and support her.
