Look Out Pirates: RIAA Wants to Hack Your PC

In the world of unsettled times comes the continuing assaut on your privacy and freedom by the RIAA. This nugget would allow them to come across the web and delete files on your computer.
It also relieves them of any liability if they go too far.

Legal hacking, what a novel concept.

'No action may be brought under this subsection arising out of any impairment of the availability of data, a program, a system or information, resulting from measures taken by an owner of copyright in a work of authorship, or any person authorized by such owner to act on its behalf, that are reasonably intended to impede or prevent the unauthorized transmission of such work by wire or electronic communication of such transmission would infringe the rights of the copyright owner.'

Stop buying music. Just stop buying music.
If they have no money, they cannot continue to buy legislation. It's That simple.

From the Journal of the American Medical Association

"Naturally occurring anthrax is a disease acquired following contact with anthrax-infected animals or anthrax-contaminated animal products." "In humans, 3 types of anthrax infection occur: inhalational, cutaneous, and gastrointestinal."
Inhalational Anthrax
Inhalational anthrax follows deposition of spore-bearing particles of 1 to 5 Ám into alveolar spaces. Macrophages ingest the spores, some of which undergo lysis and destruction. Surviving spores are transported via lymphatics to mediastinal lymph nodes, where germination may occur up to 60 days later. The process responsible for the delayed transformation of spores to vegetative cells is poorly understood but well documented. In Sverdlovsk, cases occurred from 2 to 43 days after exposure.8 In experimental monkeys, fatal disease occurred up to 58 days28 and 98 days34 after exposure. Viable spores have been demonstrated in the mediastinal lymph nodes of monkeys 100 days after exposure.
Once germination occurs, disease follows rapidly. Replicating bacteria release toxins leading to hemorrhage, edema, and necrosis.23, 36 In experimental animals, once toxin production has reached critical threshold, death occurs even if sterility of the bloodstream is achieved with antibiotics.
The mortality rate of occupationally acquired cases in the United States is 89%, but the majority of cases occurred before the development of critical care units and, in some cases, before the advent of antibiotics

Probably more than you want to know.

Current Opinion

No RAND for Me

The web works because HTML is an open system.

The majority of what you see on your screen is written in Hyper Text Markup Language. This language has been carefully created to extend the capabilities of what can be communicated from one computer to another. The source for this is the W3C World Wide Web Consortium.

The W3C holds a special position in our little world. We in concert, without clubs, memberships, secret handshakes, or free mouse pads, have decided to agree on the W3C Recommendations as the stone tablets of our universe of the web. We are here as these 'standards' are non-propriatary, open source, and do not 'belong' to anybody. This means that we have a baseline to begin our exploration and experimentation with what we can get to show up in a browser.
